TERM FOUR
During Term One our focus for all of Stage Door's school aged classes was on on establishing connections and creating a safe and fun classroom environment where we hope our students will be able to relax, have fun and grown in confidence and skill throughout the year. We take time at the start of each new year to get to know each other, play games and invest in activities designed to promote connection, team work and fun. We find prioritizing this to be absolutely vital to establishing a vibrant, safe, happy class culture and environment inline which aligns with our tag line that Stage Door is a place "Where Everyone Belongs".
During Terms One and Two our Bravo students focused on identifying, learning about and practicing four of the important 'tools' they have in their acting toolboxes:
Faces; Bodies; Voices, Intellect, Listening and Empathy.
In Term Three students were issued with the script for their 2025 class play 'Are You New Here?'.
As well as learning their lines, our budding young actors spend Term Three working on building their characters; understanding the story; and blocking the play.
During Term Four, our focus shifts to putting all of these tools and work on the play together and to bring our story to life!
As part of our preparations for the End of Year Performance classes will shift from our usual upstairs classroom into the big studio downstairs (this is where the end of year performance will be held), in addition we will be sorting out props and costumes, and spending lots and lots of time rehearsing the play!
