Quote For The Term:
SINGING IS A MARATHON NOT A RACE!

Homework for 'Maestro' Adult Singing Class

Jess was off this week, so we had Trace taking the session.
This week we again worked on our Movie Mashup.
Throughout the term we will be breaking the song down section by section looking at rhythm, solo opportunities, harmonies, dynamics and other techniques.

Each week we will have a CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK chosen by a different student every week.
The focus this week was 'Control' and 'High Singing' - We talked about the importance of breathing & support and  posture to aid with singing high and gaining more control over our voices.

This week we checked in on the 'Writing's On The Wall' and 'This is Me' sections of our mashup.

For homework this week please keep practicing these two sections.
A reminder that tracks and lyrics for the movie mash up (including harmony guide vocal tracks) are available via this webpage for practicing at home.
Click on the song title listed on the right hand side of the page, under Resources (above the tutor pic) to access these.

Reminder - NO SINGING CLASS NEXT WEEK DUE TO EASTER MONDAY

CLASS NAME MEANING

All of our Group Singing Classes are named after a musical term.
More often than not, directions regarding the volume, speed and style of a piece of music are given in Italian. ‘Maestro’ is no different

In English, ‘Maestro’ translates to ‘Master’
We thought this a rather apt class name for our most mature singers!
