Chookas

Tuesday 3.15 - 3.45pm (30 minutes) - $100 per term at Stage Door Studios

30 min class for young primary students from 5 years+.

With a focus on building confidence, drama games, and fun, this class is a great introduction to drama and performance for our youngest students. Students rehearse towards a performance at the end of the year.

Homework for Chookas

It was FANTASTIC to get back into the classroom today with our awesome Chookas students!

We had fun learning our new physical warm up game - Jumping Jelly Beans before settling in for a presentation of Cinderella performed by students.

This term we will focus on creating characters - using the character students dressed up as at our end of Term One dress up party.
Homework this week is to come up with a name for their character.
If they dressed up as a specific named character, students are welcome to keep that given name, or to rename their characters to whatever else they would like.

Important Notices for Chookas

All of our Drama Classes are named after a term used in the theatre.

There is a theatre superstition that saying "Good Luck" to someone in the theatre is actually bad luck.
Because of this people involved in the theatre find other ways to wish someone a good show.

'Chookas'  is theatrical slang used (mainly in Australia) to do this.

In New Zealand we say "Toi Toi Toi" or more commonly “Break a Leg”.
