Flamenco Dance Class

WE PLAN TO GET THE CLASSES BACK UP AND RUNNING AGAIN IN THE FUTURE

Flamenco dancing is an artform that expresses deep emotions: solitude, love, deceit, happiness, anguish and pain are all central themes. What may seem like uncontrollable stamping and fist-shaking is actually perfectly in time with the beat or el compas, without which flamenco would not exist.

Each dance is characterized by its compás and emotion, and although the dancer has developed their own style and spontaneity, there are always elements within the dance piece that must be included.

When one understands the dynamics between the music and movement that form this most intricate and powerful art form, this exhilarating experience becomes a way of life.

Our fabulous tutor for this class is Evelyn King Muñoz. 

Evelyn is the daughter of two renowned flamenco artists. 

Her late mum Cherrie moved to Spain in her 20’s to further her passion and studies in Flamenco dancing. She lived there for 20 years, ultimately becoming well known and respected as a professional flamenco dancer. 

Her dad Rafael is a renowned Spanish Flamenco singer.

Eve was born in southern Spain where she enjoyed a wonderful childhood immersed in Flamenco.
