Jessie Rosewarne

Jessie Rosewarne re-joined the Stage Door team in 2021 after initially being one of our very first Group Singing Class tutors back in 2015. In between Stage Door stints Jessie gained a Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Classical Performance Voice from the NZ School of Music, and is now a qualified professional Opera Singer.

Jessie has long been part of the theatre community and is excited to have returned to her roots in Whakatane, where her love of singing and performing first began. Jessie’s first ever singing teacher was Stage Door principal Trace Tidd! Jessie has been in many musicals and operas through the years. Highlights include performing her 2016 sold out concert ‘Jessie Rosewarne and friends’ at Gateway Theatre, being accepted into the New Zealand Opera Chorus in 2018 and 2019, and making her operatic debut in the leading role of Lauretta in Puccini’s Opera ‘Gianni Schicchi’ in Wellington in 2019.

Jessie played the lead role of Rosalie Mullins in Theatre Whakatane's 2022 Major Production - The School of Rock.

She has also debuted as a Music Director in Theatre Whakatane's 'Pick 'n' Mix' and is absolutely loving it!

As well as her work as an administrator and assistant tutor at Stage Door, Jessie also runs a successful private singing teaching practice and is NZ’s first fully certified Vocal Health First Aid Coach.
