TERM TWO

Throughout the year our Rising Stars class will work on several different songs that they will ultimately present at our Musical Theatre End of Year Showcase performances at the end of the year, on Saturday 22 November, 2025 (scroll down for more information about our 2025 Musical Theatre Showcase). 

Parents and Students are asked to keep an eye on this page, where updates, practice resources and homework notes will be regularly added throughout the year.

TERM ONE SONG: We’re All Made of Stars
From Finding Neverland
with music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy

Finding Neverland is a musical adapted from the 1998 play ‘The Man Who Was Peter Pan’ and its 2004 film version ‘Finding Neverland’.
Finding Neverland tells the story of J.M. Barrie, a playwright with writer's block who is searching for a great story to tell, and Peter Llewelyn Davies, a withdrawn young boy struggling to recover from the loss of his dad. Together Barrie and Peter encourage and inspire one another as they each write plays. Peter lacks confidence in himself and in his play. In our song “We’re All Made of Stars” Peter’s brothers encourage him telling him to be proud of what he has written, and saying that he can be anything he wants to be.

TERM TWO SONG: Let’s Go Fly A Kite
From Mary Poppins
With songs by the Sherman Brothers

Mary Poppins the musical movie was released in 1964 and was produced by Walt Disney. 
Mary Poppins visits a dysfunctional family in London and employs her unique brand of lifestyle to improve the family's dynamic.

"Let's Go Fly a Kite" appears at the end of the film when George Banks realizes that his family is much more important than his job. He mends his son's kite and takes his family on a kite-flying outing.
