Claire House

Claire is a Stage Door mum, whose Monday & Tuesday afternoons include recounting the highlights of drama class and often playing a theatre game on the drive home. Claire’s two sons have been hooked by drama since they joined Stage Door when her family moved to Whakatāne from Glasgow.

 Claire is Whakatāne born and raised…and is now back enjoying the sunshine and all that Whakatāne has to offer. Whilst away, she loved working with young people and seeing them grow and learn as a mainstream and Reo e Rua primary teacher. Her next career move took her into the charity sector, fundraising to provide services and support for people in crisis. Claire has over 15 years’ experience in the third sector, as community fundraising manager for Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Isle of Man at the British Red Cross. She brings this experience to Stage Door as our partnership and funding coordinator. Throughout these roles, her camera has always been close by, and now photography is her main focus. Claire absolutely loves capturing interaction and emotion on camera and is Stage Door's official photographer.
