Charlie Addison-Turner
Charlie first started classes with Stage Door Performing Arts Academy at just seven years old, and has trained with us ever since!
Charlie is our most awarded Stage Door student of all time - carving her name into three trophies! In 2019 she was the recipient of our Junior Supreme Award, in recognition of her outstanding attitude and commitment. In 2023 she took home our Most Outstanding Senior Award, celebrating her fabulous talent on stage as a performer. Most recently, in 2025 Charlie became the inaugural winner of our precious Rarua Boyd Memorial 'Everglow' Award, which recognises a students beautiful wairua, or glow, and the positive effects that this has on class mates, tutors and Stage Door in general.
Charlie first took to the stage at just 4 years old, playing the role of a flower in the Thornton School production of ‘Follow that Rabbit’. She went on to perform in subsequent Thornton School shows, including playing Baby Roo in ‘Seussical’, Mr Otter in ‘Wind and the Willows’, Juke the Pirate in ‘Pantastic’, and Alex the Lion in ‘Madagascar’.
Charlie is a year 12 student at Whākatane High School where she has studied dance and consistently receives top marks for drama. Charlie is a passionate performing arts lover with a particular passion for Drama, Musical Theatre and Music - bringing the arts with her wherever she goes.
We are thrilled to have Charlie joining the team to assist in our Musical Theatre Classes in 2026!
